About the position

Bluebird Primary School is seeking one Governor specialising in Recruitment & Workforce Oversight to join the school's Governing Body.

This is an important governance position for an individual who can demonstrate professionalism, impartiality and sound judgement. The successful applicant will help oversee recruitment arrangements, support workforce planning and promote consistent staffing standards across the school.

Key responsibilities

The appointed Governor will be expected to:

  • Oversee recruitment activity and ensure that appropriate procedures are followed.

  • Monitor workforce arrangements and identify staffing requirements.

  • Support fair, consistent and transparent recruitment decisions.

  • Work alongside the Governing Body and Senior Leadership Team on staffing matters.

  • Review recruitment practices and recommend improvements where appropriate.

  • Maintain confidentiality when handling applications and sensitive staffing information.

  • Provide updates to the Governing Body on recruitment and workforce matters.

Candidate requirements

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Professional conduct and the ability to exercise sound judgement.

  • Reliability and a commitment to fulfilling governance responsibilities.

  • The ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

  • An interest in recruitment, staffing or school administration.

  • The ability to work effectively with senior staff and other Governors.

Previous experience in recruitment or governance would be advantageous, although applicants who demonstrate the required qualities and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility

Applicants must fall within one of the following Roblox age groups: 13–15 or 16–17.

You must also be 15+ for this role.

All applicants should be prepared to participate in the school's recruitment process and attend an interview if shortlisted.
